And then today, ahhhhhhhhh, we did it again. You'd think I'm talking about sex or a massage or something. But noooooooo, I'm not. I'm talking about leaving your house for several hours and *wallah* opening the door to a clean, shiny, great-smelling home. And it was MINE!
My favorite part? The fact that the toilets are clean. And I mean c-l-e-a-n. No stains of any sort. No marks. No hair (lovely visual, I know). No dirt. No grime. No smell. Not that our toilets usually smell or ever get too terribly dirty. Just the fact that someone else cleaned them. I have to admit, because my husband does read my blog, that his job is to clean toilets and showers. I refuse. He does a pretty good job, but sometimes you have to put that extra umph into it, and in that area he is lacking. But Ricky's Cleaning Service did awesome.
Everything else I could've done just as well if I didn't have small children demanding my time and attention. But that's the problem. I don't. I can't ever get the whole house clean at once. Just parts of it each day. I don't have the time to do it all at once. So, Ricky and his crew came and it was glorious.
It. Is. Wonderful.
It. Is. Relaxing.
It. Is. Worth. The. Money.
Yes, it is a luxury. I don't do it often. But I'm telling you ladies, sometimes it is just worth it. So worth it. Do you do it? Often? Rarely? Do share...
And have a great weekend. We are headed out of town to go to my husband's 20 year high school reunion. Yes, you read it right. 20 years. He's soooooooo much older than me. I'm 29 and have been for several years.... *wink, wink*

Oh completely agree....it is totally worth it. It makes me feel as relaxed as if I had a massage.
Yes it IS worth it. So much so that I sacrifice other stuff to get it done regularly.
Now kick everyone out and enjoy your clean house ... just kidding ... sort of!
I am embarrassed to say that I have never had anyone come and clean. My husband has offered and I have refused. My MIL and SIL both have someone come weekly or bi-weekly, but I have no one. I think it is the embarrassment of my house is a mess, I know that sounds dumb. But when my husband and I got married someone gave us a gift certificate for MerryMaids and I gave it to my mom. I literally had to set up the service for her because she refused to have someone come in and clean. I guess I get it from her! You are changing my stance though, because I can never get the whole place cleaned at once.
I agree...so nice to come home to a clean smell that you had nothing to do with.
We started doing it last yr when we too put our hosue on the market...and she came about every 5-6 wks when we first moved in our new house. Now she only comes before we have events, parties or overnight guests...maybe every 3 mths or less. But I think I might start having her come once a mth...it is SOOO worth it!!!!!!
Honestly, I have a cleaning lady come for 4 hours every Wednesday. And someone else comes to iron for me and do other errand type things for me occasionally. I work 50+ hours a week and want to spend what little free time I have with my family and not scrubbing toilets and dusting. I'd give up a lot to be able to still afford the cleaning lady.
Well, I'm a little leary since my engagement ring was stolen by a cleaning lady when I was pregnant and I didn't know about it until it was too late to do anything about it (it was in my jewelry box and my hands were swollen). I recently had somebody give me an estimate on cleaning every week because anything less would just be peeing in the wind around here. I'm too picky. I want Alice.
A cleaning lady was a non-negotiable when I went back to work. (Actually, she was also non-negotiable when my 2nd was born too...but I'm spoiled like that.)
It really is the everything-clean-at-once that is so nice about a cleaning lady. When I was doing it, one room would be clean and you can't smell clean in one room.
Having my house cleaned is my favorite drug! ;)
I Love having my home cleaned. We have someone come every two weeks and I have always said I would give up any "treats" but not that one!!!! It's not "Alice" but its the closest we'll get!!!
